Robinia (Black Locust) - Hard on cutting edges, but it was worth the constant tool sharpening to uncover the incredible grain patterns (no oil's or finishes). The photograph shows the Honey Pot before its transition into its final form.
The honey pot is made from the Robinia vessel above. The vessel went through a manipulation process which allows the wood to warp and become more vivid in colour and detail.
The vessel was created by manipulating the natural colour and movement of the wood after turning by hand on the lathe. Made from cheery burl.
